Helen Meluch

Helen M. Meluch, 92, of Lafayette, IN. died at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare Center in West Lafayette, IN. 6:08 PM Sunday December 18, 2011 where she had been a patient the past 3 weeks.
Helen was born in Pricedale, PA. June 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Peter and Eva Furtak Rusyniak, and was a graduate of Pricedale High School. She had previously resided in Belle Vernon, PA. and moved to the Lafayette area in 1950.
She married George R. Meluch at Winchester, VA. September 12, 1941, and he preceded her in death December 30, 1979.
Helen was a 60 year member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; a member of the Altar and Aid Society at St. Lawrence; a member of the St. Lawrence Senior Citizens; served as a volunteer at the St. Ann Soup Kitchen; and also served as a volunteer at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center.
Surviving are 5 sons, Dr. George R. Meluch (wife Heather) of Haslett, MI.; John P. Meluch (wife Paula J.) of Lafayette, IN.; Christopher J. Meluch (wife Kimberly) of Indianapolis, IN.; Stephen M. Meluch of Indianapolis, IN.; Dr. Anthony M. Meluch (wife Lori) of Statesville, NC.; a daughter, Mary Lerzak (husband Timothy S.) of Indianapolis, IN.; a sister, Julia Yuschak of Belle Vernon, PA.; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home , 1104 Columbia St. from the Rosary at 4:45 until 8 PM today, Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Wednesday, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating, with interment in St. Boniface Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
