Helen May (Max)Cochran, 94 of Oxford died 5:15 pm Friday, April 23, 2010 at Rosewalk Village. She was born May 23, 1915 to the late Jay Max and Flora Moore. On November 23, 1935 she married Keith L. Cochran and he preceded her in death in 1994. Helen was a graduate of Oxford High School and Lafayette Business College. She worked at The State Bank of Otterbein and served two terms as Deputy Treasurer of Benton County. She served 12 years on the Oxford Library Board. She was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church and played piano there for 10 years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving is a son, Mike Cochran of Oxford.
Graveside Service 2:00pm Monday at Justus Cemetery with Priscilla Bazler officiating. Memorials may be made to Oxford Federated Church or Oxford Public Library. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Mark (Vanessa) Cochran of Oxford, Tracy (Alan) Bouse of Lafayette and Kristi (Paul) Glotzbach of Greencastle and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Keith "Max" Cochran, 3 brothers, Charles, James & Kenneth Max and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cochran. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford is handling the arrangements.
