Heath Wolverton

February 13, 1975 — October 23, 2014

Heath Joseph Wolverton, 39, of Lafayette, IN., the loving son of Joseph M. Wolverton and Myrna Leuck Wolverton, passed away Thursday October 23, 2014. Heath was born February 13, 1975 in Lafayette, IN. and lived all of his life in Lafayette. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1993 and attended Ivy Tech. Heath worked at Columbian Park, Rostone, Wabash National, Indiana Packers, and most of his career was in the roofing industry. At age 14 he landed his first summer job at Columbian Park working in the concession stand. He worked there every summer for 4 years. At age 16 he moved from the concession stand to operating rides and he loved doing that because he thought that was way "cooler" than working in the concession stand and he met a lot of cute girls. Heath loved music and his bass guitar. He always loved to go fishing. In his younger years, Heath really liked riding his go-cart, 3-wheeler, snow-mobile, and his skateboard. Before he started working at the park, he had so much fun spending summertime days at the local pool and YMCA because he loved to swim. He was also on the SCAT swim team and was very proud that he won some blue ribbons. Spending time at his grandparent's home and being spoiled by them was one of his greatest joys. Heath loved Disney World as that was his favorite vacation spot. He was a Star Wars enthusiast and has a collection of all the Star War figures. Studying and discussing Astronomy and Space Science was a passion of his. Heath will be remembered as such a kind, considerate and loving person. He loved his family and extended family and always enjoyed being around them. Heath is survived by his parents Joseph M. Wolverton and Myrna Leuck Wolverton and dog Miss Tinker Bell. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Kathryn Wolverton and Art and Clara Leuck; uncles Virgil Wolfe, Dan Casey, and Manley Scheurich; aunts Irene Leuck and Jan Leuck; cousin-in-law, Andy Weiss and his beloved sheltie dog, Roudy. Those wishing may contribute to the Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club, 1529 N. 10th Street, Lafayette, IN. 47904. Private family services will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette on Wednesday Oct. 29. Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.com
