Harry Edward Brennan, 89, of Lafayette, died Saturday November 12, 2016 at Rosewalk Commons in Lafayette. Mr. Brennan had moved to Lafayette in May, 2012 from Ridgewood, N.J. to reside with his daughter Maura B. Kennedy. Harry was born in Springfield, MA October 9, 1927, the son of the late Laurence Oscar and Elizabeth G. Boyle Brennan. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Harry served in the Merchant Marines, and later enlisted with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Virginia M. LeNaire at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City August 9, 1950, and she preceded him in death December 16, 2006. Harry was employed as a consultant for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and later as general foreman for the City of Stanford, CT. for 20 years, retiring in 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Maura B. Kennedy (husband Alan) of Lafayette; Holly Tenkate (husband Dennis) of Oakland, N.J.; two sons, Kevin Brennan (wife Barbara) of Secaucus, N.J.; Kerry Brennan (wife Suzane) of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Arthur Brennan (wife Germaine) of Pleasant Prarie, WI and a sister, Hester Mazzotti of Nassau, N.Y. and by 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kyle Froelich, and by three brothers, Raymond, Larry and Jack. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St. Lafayette from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday Nov. 22. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette Wednesday Nov. 23, 10:30 AM Fr. Jeff Martin officiating.
