Gail F. Kirkpatrick, 93 of West Lafayette, died at the residence of her daughter Cheryl Kirkpatrick in West Lafayette 9:30 A.M. Saturday October 18, 2008. Born in Greensburg, IN. January 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Irven H. and Martha Hopper Dodge, she had resided in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area since 1941. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a graduate of Greensburg, IN. High School, and was a homemaker. She married Charles M. Kirkpatrick at Greensburg, IN. September 10, 1939, and he preceded her in death November 9, 2003. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of Federated Church; the Church Women United; a 50 year member of the Purdue Women's Club and a former board member of the International Center at Purdue. She was very active at the International Center, and was known as the "Coat Lady". Mrs. Kirkpatrick maintained contact with many of the foreign students that attended Purdue University. She and her husband traveled world-wide. In further travels, she visited the families of the foreign students and their families she befriended while they were students at Purdue. Surviving are 2 daughters, Nina B. Kirkpatrick and Cheryl Kirkpatrick, both of West Lafayette; and a sister, Velda Selke of Redding, CA. Graveside services will be held at Greensburg, IN. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Jonathan M. Presti of Oberlin, Ohio and Joel K. Presti of Lafayette, IN. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the International Center at Purdue University.
