Frances Bennett

Frances Louise (Linderer) Bennett, 95, of Huntington, IN and formerly of Linden, IN died at Oakbrook Village in Huntington, IN Saturday August 20, 2016, where she had been a patient since February 19, 2015. Frances was born in Lafayette, IN October 3, 1920, the daughter of the late August L. and Jessie O. (Shaw) Linderer. She was a 1938 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, Lafayette, IN. She married Charles Bennett, Jr. at Elston Presbyterian Church August 4, 1940, and he preceded her in death February 19, 2001. Frances was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church where she enjoyed numerous activities including singing in the choir, Methodist Women’s Club, Sunday School, and the Edna Circle. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years, serving as Worthy Matron and Esther. Frances enjoyed the Linden MNO Home Economics Club for many years, holding several offices. She was an active member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Leaders. Frances enjoyed singing, playing piano, flowers and gardening. Surviving is a son, Larry G. (Glenda) Bennett of Romney, IN and a daughter, Diana K. (Ronald) Meier of Huntington, IN whom she lived with for 13 years. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald L. and Loren Dale Linderer. Friends may call at the Linden United Methodist Church, Linden, IN from 10:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM Wednesday August 24, Rev. Dr. Veryl C. Roth of Huntington, IN officiating.
