Fortunate M. Draft, 90, of West Lafayette, IN. and formerly of Florida and New York, died at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital Emergency Room 3:11 PM Wednesday June 13, 2012. Mrs. Draft and resided at University Place in West Lafayette the past 6 years.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York March 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Anthony and Regina Annuncio Cafiero and was a graduate of Jamaica Vocational High School in New York. Mrs. Draft had worked in a speciality dress store in sales and alterations while residing in New York.
Fortunate was first married to William G. O'Grady in 1946 in New York, and he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Melvin Draft in 1983, and he died in 2006.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Port Richey, FL. and was also a member of the United Methodist Women. While living in West Lafayette, she attended First United Methodist Church of West Lafayette. Fortunate was completely devoted to her family and her faith.
Surviving is a daughter, Patricia Wildner of Oxford, IN.; a son, Michael O'Grady (wife Kelli) of Lecanto, FL., 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Heidl.
Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford, from noon until the service at 1:00 PM Monday, Rev. Daniel T. Berger officiating, with interment to follow at the Danville, IL.
