Fern Swim

Fern Mary Swim, 96, 501 N. Lincoln Ave., Fowler formerly of 106 W. Vine St., Oxford died 2:15 pm Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Greenhill Manor. She was born April 12, 1913 in Oxford to Emery H. Scott and Dora Mae Barrhett Scott.
She had lived in Wolcott from 1956 until 1979. She worked at Ladd Drug Store and Thayer Ribbon Factory for 18 years, retiring in 1979. Her marriage was to Marian Swim in Kentucky in 1940. He preceded her in death September of 1969. She was a member of Federated Church of Oxford. She was a Charter Member of the Oxford VFW.
Surviving is a son, Donald K (wife: Wetanah A.) Brown of Fowler and 4 grandchildren, Cindy A. Hamilton (fiancAC.: Larry Ray) of Harrison, TN, Scott A. Brown (wife: Lisa) Lafayette, Paula K. Fuehrer of Fowler and Brian K. Brown of Ooltewah, TN.
Friends may call from 11am until time of Funeral Service 1pm Monday, April 27, 2009 at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford, Pastor Pricilla Bazler to officiate. Interment will follow at Justus Cemetery, Oxford. Preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
