Eva Young

Eva Jeanette Young, 84, of Oxford, IN. died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN. 10:41 PM Thursday December 4, 2008 shortly after admission. She had been in failing health. Born May 27, 1924, in White County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lon and Luella Guntrip Hurst, she was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and had resided in Oxford for the past 45 years. Her marriage was to Robert F. Young in Lafayette, IN. August 19, 1944, and he preceded her in death May 28, 1999. Mrs. Young was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and also a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker, but for a brief time had worked at Purdue University and for WEN Manufacturing in Fowler. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sandra K. Frey (husband David) of Templeton, IN. and Virginia Fell of Otterbein, IN.; a grandson who was raised in the home, Mark Fell (wife Jennifer) of Pine Village, IN.; and 2 brothers, James Hurst (wife Adley) of West Lafayette, IN. and Robert Hurst (wife Mary Alice) of Ohio. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by a granddaughter and a brother. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford, from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM Monday, Rev. Linda Sproull officiating. Interment Oxford West Cemetery.
