Eloice E. (Barner) Koekenberg, 84, of Monon died 1:25pm Saturday, December 31, 2011 at I.U. Health-Arnett Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 14, 1927 near Monon, IN to Bloice & Esther (Ehnen) Barner. She was a 1945 graduate of Monon High School. On December 29, 1946 she married Emil Koekenberg at the Frankfort United Methodist Church parsonage, and he survives. She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church, U.M.W. & Ladys of the Lakes. She enjoyed sewing & needlework. Emil & Eloice belonged to the Studebaker Drivers Club and attended many meets around the U.S. She was a homemaker & waitress. Surviving are son, Curt (Linda) Koekenberg of Monticello & 4 daughters, Linda J. (Ron) Burks and Becky K. Myers of Monon, Susan K. Keys of Wauseon, OH, & Debra K. Tiede of Monticello. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Barner & 2 sisters, Merna Rinker & Mary K. Dice.
Friends may call from 4-8PM Tuesday at the Monon United Methodist Church. Service 10AM Wednesday at the Monon United Methodist Church with Rev. James Copeland & Rev. Russ Alley officiating. Interment will follow in Bedford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Monon United Methodist Church c/o Stained-glass Window Fund.
