Elizabeth A. "Betty" Naville, 83, of West Lafayette and formerly of Lafayette, died at University Place Health Care Center, West Lafayette 8:15 AM Sunday May 10, 2009. She had resided at University Place since December 2005. Born in Otterbein, IN. August 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles T. and Katherine Donahue Combs, she was a life long Tippecanoe County resident. Mrs. Naville attended St. Lawrence School, St. Francis High School and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Clarence V. "Clancy" Naville September 18, 1948 at St. Lawrence Church in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death February 17, 1996. Mrs. Naville was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Senior Citizens group, and the St. Lawrence Friends and Neighbors Club; Delta Chi Sigma Sorority and a former member of the Elks Country Club. She enjoyed watercolor painting, playing cards, and was an avid television sports fan. For a number of years, she worked as a secretary in the Purdue University Agriculture Economics Department. Surviving are 2 daughters, Connie Pfrommer (husband David) of Columbia South Carolina; Jeanie Klippel (husband Mike) of Terre Haute, IN.; and a son, Robert Naville of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Delores James (husband Ret. Col. Donald James, USAF) a brother-in-law, Francis J. Naville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at St. Lawrence Church, corner of 19th and Meharry from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM Friday, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating. Entombment to follow, Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Lafayette Community and Family Resource Center or Matthew 25 Care and Share Soup Kitchen.
