Elizabeth Delaney

Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Delaney, 77, of Lafayette, passed away at The Springs of Lafayette 9:30 AM Saturday May 19, 2018 where she had been a patient since Tuesday. Libby was born in Lafayette November 18, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Barbara A. McCarty Jones. She was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University School of Nursing. Libby was employed at the Indiana Veterans Home as both a registered nurse and Director of Nursing, retiring after 25 years of service. Her first marriage was to Jerry Heath and they later divorced. She then married Joe Delaney, and they divorced. Libby was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; enjoyed music and playing the piano; art and painting and adopting needy animals. Surviving are two daughters, Monica Ann Dunlap of Independence, MO; Marcia M. Heath of Lafayette, IN; and by two sons, Edward David Heath (companion Cathy Burnam) of Oak Grove, MO and Joseph Francis Delaney, IV (wife Amanda) of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Marisa Dunlap, Logan Dunlap, Joseph Rhyon Delaney, Addison Delaney, Aeden Delaney and Brianna Delaney; and a great-granddaughter, Brynlen Dunlap. Friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM Friday May 25, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating, with interment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Lawrence Catholic School.
