Eleanor K. Killin, age 97 of Pine Village, IN, passed away peacefully at her residence Saturday January 6, 2018. She was born in Oxford, IN March 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Ralph and Leona McGuire Kennington, and was a graduate of Oxford High School. Her marriage was to Walter L. Killin at Oxford June 15, 1939, and he preceded her in death March 15, 1993. Eleanor was a farm wife, but also was employed at the Lafayette Post Office for 28 years, and also substituted at the Pine Village Post Office. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oxford. Surviving is a granddaughter, Kristie Johnson of Alabama; two nieces, Cathy Keys of West Lafayette; Sally Holland of Alabama; four nephews, Harold Kennington of Pine Village; John Ivan Nutt of New Mexico; Mike, Steve and Tim Nutt all of Lafayette; a great-nephew, Harold Kennington III of Pine Village and her long time caregiver, Beverly VanderHoff of Pine Village. She was preceded in death by two sons, David E. and Robert Killin; a brother, Harold Kennington, Sr. and by two sisters, Regina Abbott and Dorothy Nutt. A Mass of Christin Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oxford 10:00 AM Thursday Jan 11, Fr. Robert Klemme officiating, with interment to follow in Oxford Catholic Cemetery.
