Edward O. Thomas, 90, of Oxford, IN. died at Creasy Springs Health Care Center in Lafayette 12:10 PM Saturday December 27, 2014 where he had been a patient the past year. Edward was born in Fowler, IN. December 27, 1924, the son of the late Logan and Anna Morgan Thomas and was a 1942 graduate of Gilboa High School. He married Betty Jean Lemen in 1948, and they had four children of that union. Edward farmed and formerly owned and operated a Phillips 66 service station in Oxford from 1955 until 1975. In 1976, he started work for the Asgrow Plant in Oxford, and worked there until 1989, retiring as a supervisor of the bean operation. He was a member of the Oxford Federated Church, and a former elder and deacon of the First Christian Church in Oxford, and was a charter member of the Oxford Lions Club. Surviving is a son, Glenn E. Thomas (wife Bobbi) of West Lafayette, IN.; three daughters, Mary E. Sunden (husband Dennis) of West Lafayette; Paula A. Warzak of Demotte, IN; Jeannette E. Whiteman of Lafayette; and a sister, Thelma Bice of Lafayette. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Amy Warzak Steffel, Arica Warzak Gallo, Andrea Warzak Anderson, Nathan Warzak, Nicole Thomas Pornoy, Courtney Thomas Schubach, Brittany Thomas, Ellen Sunden, Jeffrey Sunden, Jeanne Ann Leman, Ashley, Levi and Taylor Whiteman; and by 10 great-grandchildren, Eric and Emily Davis, Jordan and Matthew Gallo, Claire Anderson, Rylee Pornoy, Regan and Reece Pornoy, Paige and Brayden Schubach. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Grayson Wheeler and Leah Anderson, a brother, Ronald Thomas and a sister, Helen Osborn. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 11:00 AM until the funeral service a 12 PM Wednesday Dec. 31, Pastor Wes Osborn officiating.
