Waclaw “Alex” Dymek, M.D. of Lafayette, Indiana and also Lakewood, Colorado passed away Friday October 29, 2021 in Lafayette. He and his wife had a residence in Lafayette to spend time with their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. Dr. Dymek was born in Cudzynowice, Poland March 22, 1950, the son of the late Stefan and Leokadia (Kalwa) Dymek. He married Grazyna “Grace” Kurcio, M.D. in Miechow, Poland June 8, 1974 and she survives. Dr. Dymek was a graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland and completed residencies in internal medicine in his native Poland and also at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO. He practiced medicine in Poland as well as Brookfield, Carrollton, Richmond, Milan, and Unionville Missouri. Dr. Dymek attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church while in Lafayette. Surviving beside his wife is a daughter, Joanna Antolakis, J.D. (husband Stephanos) of Lakewood, CO; son, Max Dymek, M.D. (wife Patricia Dymek, M.D.) of West Lafayette, Indiana; a brother, Stanislaw Dymek, M.D. (wife Bozena Dymek M.D.) of Staszow, Poland and a sister, Wanda Karbowniczek (husband Krzysiek) of Cudzynowice, Poland. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Natalie Boedefeld, Vanessa and Michael Antolakis, and Marcus Dymek. Dr. Dymek was preceded in death by a brother, Tadeusz Dymek. Friends may call at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette from 12:30 pm until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm, Saturday Nov. 6, Fr. William Summerlin officiating.
