Dorothy Rawles

Dorothy M. Piercy Rawles, 75, of West Lafayette, IN. and formerly of Oxford, IN. died at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Monday December 15, 2014. She had been residing in Terre Haute to be close to her daughter, Judy Buza due to her health. Dorothy was born in Edmonton, KY December 17, 1938, the daughter of the late Ernest and Ordra Phelps Froedge. She married Bob Piercy in August 1957, and they later divorced, and he died in 2000. Dorothy then married Paul Piercy February of 1968, and he preceded her in death August 1996. She then married Merle Rawles July 12, 2001 and he preceded her in death October 1, 2007. Dorothy was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ and had worked at Purdue University in Food Services until retiring in 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Buza of Terre Haute, IN; Paula Pitkins of Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Lyla Lewis of Hoopeston, IL and Ruby Summers of Milford, IL; along with five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Titus. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford, IN from 11 AM until the service at 12 PM Thursday Dec. 18, Larry McMillan officiating.
