Dorothy Louise Fell, 87, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, IN. The daughter of Mamie & John Samuel Gillen was born November 20, 1922 in Benton County. She attended school at Pine Township in Benton Co. and then graduated from Oxford High School in 1941. She married Daniel E. Fell on August 22, 1942 and he survives. Dorothy and Dan purchased Dale Doty's Culligan business in Oxford in 1965. Dorothy was a partner and bookkeeper for their business, Fell's Culligan. She was a member of the Oxford Federated Church and the Oxford/Fowler VFW ladies Auxiliary. She was also a life member of the Oak Grove Heritage House and instrumental in the establishment of this organization and the restoration of this historical building. She enjoyed boating, camping, mushroom hunting in Michigan, traveling, bird watching, and viewing and identifying trees and plants in her garden, community and travels. Dorothy loved interacting with her grand children; she especially enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters. Surviving with her husband are a son. Stephen Fell (wife: Cindy) of Attica and daughters, Kathy Huber (husband: Richard) of Boswell and Beverly Burton (husband: Tom) of Oxford.
Friends may call at the Oxford Federated Church from 9:30 am until time of service 11:30 AM Wednesday, February 24, 2010, Rev. Bob Elness officiating. Interment will follow at Justus Cemetery, Oxford, IN. Dorothy's life was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Mark Fell (wife: Jennifer), Keltie Fell Alexander, Brett, Bryan & Deidra Alexander, Christy Huber Brost (Husband: Mike), Danny Huber, Angela Burton Piercy (husband: Tim), Nicole Burton Brummett (husband: Bill), 19 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob & Robbie Fell, Brook Zollman, Kalob Weigle, Kelsie, Tisha, Mandy, Alisha, Bobby, Charles & Andy Alexander, Cody & Cory Brost, Nick & McKayla Piercy, Jillian, Chase & Justin Brummet and 5 great- great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter Kandas Fell, a great-granddaughter, Ashley Brost, a sister, Lennie Zollman and 3 brothers, Frank, Jack & Jerry Gillen.
