Dorothy Beutel

Dorothy M. Beutel, 101, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Lafayette, died at Palm Gardens of Largo Healthcare Center January 1, 2010 where she had resided the past year and a half. Born in Milford, Illinois September 15, 1908, the daughter of the late Austin Jesse and Rhoda A. Carr Pellam, she was a graduate of Milford, Illinois High School. Mrs. Beutel had resided most all of her adult life in Lafayette, but had resided in Florida since 1999. She married Anthony J. Beutel at Ventura, California May 6, 1936, and he preceded her in death October 5, 1999. Mrs. Beutel had worked at the Lafayette Country Club as a hostess for many years, and was a member of the First Christian Church and Delta Phi Sigma Sorority, both in Lafayette. Surviving are 2 sons, Lawrence Beutel of Indianapolis, IN.; and David Beutel of The Villages, Florida. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
