Doris Woerner

Doris I. Woerner, 90, of Oxford, IN. died at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette, IN. Sunday January 23, 2011 at 1:14 P.M. Mrs. Woerner was born in Tippecanoe County, IN. June 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Evert F. and Exie Leamon Wilson, and was a graduate of Wea High School and the Indiana Business College in Lafayette. She married Merrill E. Woerner at Stidham, (near Lafayette) January 28, 1945, and he preceded her in death March 17, 1988. Mrs. Woerner was a homemaker, and was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Dan Patch Home Ec Club. Surviving are 2 sons, Edward Woerner (wife Karel) of Oxford, IN.; Donald Woerner (wife Becky) of Templeton, IN.; and a sister, Helen J. Byers of West Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Whaley and a brother, Francis Wilson. Funeral services at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford 10 AM Wednesday, Pastor Linda Sproull officiating, with interment in Oxford West Cemetery.
