Doris I. Fix, 97, of West Lafayette and formerly of Benton County, died at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare in West Lafayette Wednesday October 23, 2013. Doris was born March 30, 1916 in Pine Village, IN. the daughter of the late James Eli and Gladys Martindale Fenters and was a 1934 graduate of Pine Village, IN. High School. She married Ronald J. Fix at Pine Village December 19, 1937 and he preceded her in death November 13, 1982. Doris was a member of the former Talbot United Methodist Church and a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church as well as a member of the Beulah Chapter 102, Order of Eastern Star at Otterbein. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Bever (husband Lewis "Bud") of West Lafayette, IN., Sandra Wood (husband James) of Lafayette, IN.; a son, Stephen Fix (wife Pamela) of Forest, VA.; two brothers, Gordon Dean Fenters (wife Barbara) of Fullerton, CA.; Dale Fenters of Alice , Texas; and one sister, Janet McKillup of Winter Park, FL. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Anne Cassady, Sarah and Alan Wood, Warren, Edward and Ronald Fix; Rachel and Doris Mertz; and by three great-granddaughters, Ava, Sarah and Anna Fix. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 7 PM today, Friday, with Beulah Chapter 102 Order of Eastern Star service at 6:30 PM. Funeral services at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home 1:00 PM Saturday, Rev. Lewis Ruman officiating, with interment in Locust Grove Cemetery near Ambia.
