Don C. Weaver, 75, formerly of Oxford, died at University Nursing Center, Upland, Indiana 6:48 PM Monday November 23, 2009 where he had been a patient the past 3 years. Born August 25, 1934 in Templeton, IN. the son of the late Henry Clay and Edna Belle Hoggard Weaver, he was a 1953 graduate of Oxford High School. He married Karen L. Hopper at Pine Village, IN. June 9, 1962, and she survives. Mr. Weaver served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1956 until 1959, and had been employed at Purdue University as a fire equipment mechanic in the fire and safety department for 20 years, retiring Nov. 4, 1996. He was a member of the Oak Grove Country Club and was a retired volunteer fireman with the Oxford/Oak Grove Township Fire Department. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, listening to old radio programs and watching movies, and enjoyed watching all kinds of sporting events. Surviving with his wife is a son, Terry Weaver (wife Jill) of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Kimberly Daniels of West Lafayette, IN.; and a brother, John Weaver of West Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Brock and Britni Weaver along with several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 3 brothers, Earl, Larry and Richard Weaver, and a sister, Amy Dalka. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford from 5 until 7 PM Friday. Funeral services at the funeral home 11:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Paul Stamm officiating, with interment to follow at Justus Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or the Benton County Cancer Society.
