David Lynn Fell, 64, of West Lafayette, died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center 1:25 PM Sunday May 10, 2009 where he had been a patient since Thursday. Mr. Fell had been in ill health the past 2 years with lung and brain cancer. Born in Lafayette, IN. March 23, 1945, the son of the late Richard and Pauline Beaver Fell, he was a 1963 graduate of Oxford High School and served a 4 year machinists apprenticeship. Mr. Fell was a machinist and designer at ALCOA 43 A½ years, and did metalwork and design as a hobby. He married Gayle Russell in Lafayette, IN. March 24, 2006 and she survives. Mr. Fell was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Lafayette, and participated in the ALCOA bowling team and golf league. An avid NASCAR fan, he was a motorcycle enthusiast, and had a keen interest in the windmill projects in Benton County. Surviving with his wife is his step-mother, Phyllis Fell of Oxford, IN.; a daughter, Lynette D. Ramsey (companion Amanda DeBusk) of Tampa, FL.; a son, Richard R. Fell (wife Krissy) of Lafayette; a step-brother, Tom Greenwood (wife Debbie) of Oxford, IN and a step-sister Gloria Thomas of Kansas City, MO. Also surviving is a grandson, Cody C. Fell.
