Claude Leo Pennington, 71, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, formerly of Attica and Pine Village, died at his residence in Canal Winchester, Ohio 5:50 P.M. Monday January 11, 2010 after being stricken with pancreatic cancer 3 weeks ago. Born in Jamestown, Ohio November 10, 1938, the son of the late Willis G. and Jesse Irene Blevins Pennington, he was a graduate of Groveport-Madison High School in Groveport, Ohio. He married Edith I. Watson at Columbus, Ohio July 3, 1972, and she preceded him in death June 5, 1984. Mr. Pennington worked at Harrison Steel in Attica for a number of years as a heat treat operator, and after returning to Ohio 26 years ago, was employed by Ameri Guard Security in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mendy Lea Pennington of Veedersburg, IN.; Abera Diane DeLong (husband Thomas F. Jr.) of Canal Winchester, Ohio.; and 2 sons Stephen Pennington (companion Lynn Kennedy) and Shannon Pennington (companion Carla Cullison) both of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren.Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford one hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. Friday, Larry McMillan officiating.
