Clarence A. Cecille, 71, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Friday March 26, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL September 19, 1949, the son of the late Clarence B. and Jean A. (Koperny) Cecille. He purchased a home and moved his family to Wingate, IN in 1974 where he cared for his parents until his move to Lafayette, IN in 1994. Clarence was a graduate of Lakeview High School in Chicago and was employed at Fairfield Manufacturing in Lafayette from 1974 until his retirement in 2013. Clarence was fondly known as “Cecille” and “Kuby” by his family and friends. He was a dedicated employee of Fairfield Manufacturing for 39 years and took great pride in all that he accomplished during his career. In addition to his work, Kuby loved cars and his two dogs, Joey and Ruby. It was no surprise to family and friends to see him drive up in a new vehicle or to hear of him making a steak dinner for the dogs. Lastly, Kuby dedicated his life to family. Upon the passing of his parents, he took on the role of Patriarch. For years, he hosted family holidays and was present for so many milestones in the lives of his nieces and nephews. Surviving is a brother, James Cecille (Maryann) of Streamwood, IL, and three sisters, Jacqueline Kraft (Tim) of Lafayette, Kathleen Irvin of Lafayette, Geri Ryan (Floyd Holmes) of Crawfordsville, IN, several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and his dear friend Elbert Griffin. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Irvin and Barbara Ragona along with three brothers, John J. and Zane Cecille and Robert King. Friends will be received from 12:30 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM Tuesday April 6 in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, West Lafayette, with Fr. Mark Walter officiating.
