Chloe Long of Lafayette, IN died on Aug 9, 2011 at the residence of her granddaughter, Becky Daubenmier. She had formerly been a resident of Milner Community Health Care in Rossville, IN since 2010.
Born, July 7, 1920 in Lima, OH she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Cooper. Ms. Long lived the majority of her life in the central OH area near Centerburg and Mt.Vernon until moving to Lafayette, IN with her granddaughter in 2007.
On Aug 21,1937 she married Arthur Long in Lima, OH., and they were divorced in 1941. He survives. They had two sons, Dennis Long (Alice) of Mt.Vernon, OH and Douglas Long (Louzella) of Utica, OH., and they both survive.
Ms. Long worked for the Curtis Wright Corp. during WW II. She then was a dental assistant for 25 years with Dr. Bill Hunter DDS in Centerburg, OH. She then worked as a caregiver for various families in and around the Columbus, OH area.
Ms. Long attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette. She had attended Federated Church in West Lafayette for several years prior. She was a member of the Eastern Star organization in OH.
Surviving w/ her two sons are 6 grand children; Becky Daubenmier (Joe) Lafayette, IN, Grant Long (Connie), Greg Long (Diana), Tom Long (Susan), Melinda Daniel and Jeff Long (Donna) all of the Mt.Vernon, OH area.
Also surviving are 14 Great Grand children; Melissa Hedrick (Nathan) and Jacob Daubenmier (Kelsey) of Rossville, IN, Eric Long, Justin Long, Kasey Long, Jennifer Long, Hannah Long, Allyson Long, Canyon Carter, Cullen Carter, Caria Carter, Anna Long of the Mt.Vernon, OH area, Josh Daniel (Stephanie) of Las Cruces, NM and Jamie Reich (Rick) of Danbury, CT.
along with 6 Great Great Grand Children, Alton, Wesley and Reagan Hedrick, Clayton and Carson Daubenmier and Reese Reich.
A niece, Sara Corbet of Benson, AZ also survives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester "Bud" Cooper in 1997.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in Mt.Vernon, OH.
