Charles Wesley White, Jr., a lifelong resident of Linden, IN passed away at IU Arnett Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN Monday April 26, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children. He was 87 years old. He and Nancy had moved to Crawfordsville 2 ½ years ago. He was born in Lafayette March 18, 1934, the son of the late Charles Wesley White, Sr and Ruth Inez (Patton) White. He married Nancy Jane Fagan at the Methodist Parsonage in Linden on December 29, 1956. Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by a daughter Becky Servies (Jerry) of Crawfordsville and a son, Chuck (Carolyn) of Lawrenceburg, IN, six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Don White. Charles was a 1952 graduate of Linden High School and graduated from DeVry Technical School in Chicago. He served in the US Army from 1956 – until 1958. He was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Charles was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and was instrumental in the building of the new church and youth center. He was a seventeen year member of the Linden Carnegie Library Board and was the former owner of White’s TV in Linden. Charles was employed at RR Donnelley & Sons as a lead electrician from 1960 until he retired in 1996. Not being able to “sit still,” he went to work for Tipmont REMC as a meter reader and retiring again in 2014 as building maintenance director. Charles was a member of the Donnelley Club and a 50 -year plus member of the Masonic Lodge. Charles was proud of his community and country and was a member of the Tea Party and American Legion where he recently enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Friends may call at the Linden United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM Saturday Ma1, Pastor Clint Fink officiating. The interment will follow at the Linden Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Crawfordsville American Legion.
