Charles M. Stewart, 62, of West Lafayette, died at his residence Saturday May 11, 2013. Charles was born in Crown Hill, West Virginia November 12, 1950, the son of the late Leonard B. and Thelma R. Pritt Stewart. He attended Lakewood High School in Lakewood, OH. and received his Associate of Arts Degree from Wilmington College in Wilmington, OH. Charles was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and a Second Degree Knights of Columbus. He had worked as a bus driver for Lafayette City Bus; a driver for Lafayette Limo and Imperial Travel and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He participated in the Boy Scouts, and was an Eagle Scout and a universal blood donor. Charles married Mary L. Campbell at Cleveland, OH. December 31, 1986, and she survives, along with three daughters, Theresa M. Thiele, P.A.-C. (husband Christopher) of Tampa, FL.; Margaret G. Martin (husband Paul) of Lafayette, IN.; Christina C. Broadhurst (husband Russell) of Helen, MT.; one son Dr. Christopher M. Stewart. M.D. (wife Sonya) of Shreveport, LA.; and a sister Barbara Stewart (husband Jimmy Helker) of Cleveland, OH. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and a niece, Isadora Wagner of Mississippi and a nephew,Jean Paul Hanawalt of Lakewood, OH. A memorial mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette on Wednesday May 22 at 10:00 AM., Fr. Tim Alkire officiating. The interment service will be held at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, IL. 11:00 AM Thursday May 23 (EDT). If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Church.
