Charles William Gillam, 87, of Lafayette, formerly of Kokomo, IN died at Creasy Springs Healthcare in Lafayette 12:30 AM Wednesday December 16, 2015 shortly after admission. Head n his wife had been residing in Lafayette since June, 2013 to be mear their daughter. Charles was born in Kokomo, IN May 3, 1928, the son of the late Vern R. and Gladys P. Clawson Gillam and was a 1946 graduate of Kokomo High School. He married Mary Jane Conner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kokomo august 26, 1950 and she survives, Charles was employed at Delco Radio/ General Motors in Kokomo as a tool and die maker for 46 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kokomo, and the UAW local. Charles was an avid golfer, loved to hunt and fish in Canada, and enjoyed tinkering in his tool shop. Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Cindy M. (Steve) Good of Lafayette, IN; two sons, Jeff Gillam (Sandra) of Martinez, GA; David Gillam (Mary Jo) of Conroe, TX, and a sister Adlene Smith of Radnor, IN. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric Good (Sarah) of Indianapolis, IN; Tyler Gillam (April) of Conroe, TX; Logan Gillam, Conroe TX; Lynda Alexis Gillam, Martinez, GA and Lauren Gillam of Martinez, GA. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Good. Private graveside services were held at Zion Cemetery, Bringhurst, IN.
