Carol A. Hanna Morris, 81, of Romney, IN, died at Signature Healthcare in Lafayette, IN Thursday April 13, 2017. Carol was born in Lafayette November 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Francis and Anna Hinkle Corwin, and was a 1953 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. She was first married to Bob Dean Hanna February 28, 1954 in Lafayette and he died June 13, 1973. Carol then married Roy Morris, Jr. March 22, 1974 in Romney and he survives. She was the owner and operator of the Romney Grocery for over 25 years, and later with her husband Roy, operated the Romney Bike Shop in the same location. Carol played the organ at Romney Presbyterian Church for 20 years, and served as church treasurer for 10 years. She was a member and past treasurer of the Randolph Township Home Extension Club; member of the Tippecanoe County Chorus, directed by Al Stewart; a member and Sunday School teacher at Elston Presbyterian Church and served as the “number one caller” and siren activator for Randolph Township Fire Department prior to the 911 system we have now. Carol also played the organ and Roy, her husband, played the piano at Elston Presbyterian Church. She liked working in her yard and mowing, walking, playing cards, working crossword puzzles and going out to eat with her friends. Surviving beside her husband Roy are two daughters, Debera A. Hanna of Westfield, IN; Delores “Dee” Allee (husband David) of Lafayette, IN; two sons Robert Hanna (wife Cathy) of Rensselaer, IN; Steve Hanna (wife Carrey) of Colfax, IN; two step-daughters Debra Morris (husband David Ward) of Cincinnati, OH; Dianna Sharp (husband Frank) of Bargersville, IN; one step-son Ken Morris of Des Moines, IA; two brothers, Rodney “Rock” Corwin (wife Karen) of Newport News, VA; Jerry Corwin (wife Sharon) of West Point, IN and one sister, Marcella Maynard (husband Marshall) of Romney, IN. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 4 until 7 PM Monday April 17. The funeral will be held at Elston Presbyterian Church, 375 Elston Road, Lafayette at 10:30 AM Tuesday April 18, Pastor Rick Ryan officiating.
