Brenda Jones

Brenda K. Jones, 55, of Oxford, IN. passed from this life, surrounded by her loving family at 7:15 AM Sunday March 24, 2013 after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia for two and a half years. She received her healing when God called her home.
Brenda was born in Lafayette, IN. May 31, 1957 to Richard and Helen (Shidler) Lester. She was a 1975 graduate of Benton Central High School and a 1976 graduate of Ivy Tech Dental Assistant Program. She worked for Dr. John Folkers, DDS, as an office administrator. Brenda was a member of the Fowler Christian Church.
She married Stuart "Stu" Jones in Otterbein, IN. on December 6, 1980, and he survives. In addition to her parents who reside in Lafayette, she is survived by three children, Adam Jones (wife Rebecca), Lani Jones and Kelsey Jones, all of Indianapolis, as well as a sister, Diane Foster (husband William) of Oxford, IN., and by a brother, Greg Lester (wife Deann) of West Lafayette, IN.
Brenda was passionate about all things concerning her family. She actively served with many school, community, church and charitable organizations, most recently with the Benton Central Drama Boosters. She enjoyed working with plants and flowers, especially tulips.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Larry Cripe, Katie Sargent, Stacey Dye and staff of the Simon Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at the Fowler Christian Church, 106 N. Madison Ave., Fowler, IN. 47944 from 4 until 8 PM Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at the church at 11 AM Thursday, Pastor Kirk Zimmerman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fowler Christian Church to benefit His Kids Kloset; Benton Community Foundation to benefit CAAP or to the Simon Cancer Center.
