Bonnie Covey

Bonnie M. Covey, 96, of Niagara Falls, New York, and formerly of Boswell, IN died at Elderwood at Wheatfield Skilled Living Center in Niagara Falls Friday February 17, 2017. She was born in Boswell, IN April 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Ola Nichols Orr. Bonnie was a graduate of Boswell, IN High School and received her B. S. in Nursing from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She married Lester Covey and he preceded her in death November 25, 2008. Bonnie was employed as a registered nurse at several hospitals and nursing homes in the Chicago, IL area, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Cold Springs Presbyterian Church, Bristol, TN and the PEO Sisterhood. Bonnie and Lester enjoyed traveling, including trips to Europe and the Middle East, especially Israel. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Covey of Williamston, MI; Susan Gorski of Gasport, NY and Tricia Bredeson of Rochester, MN and a son, Lester Covey of Bristol, TN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Friends may call at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church from 10:30 AM until the service at 11:30 Saturday Feb. 25, Pastor Chuck Anderson officiating, with interment to follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
