Blanche A. Weisenberger, 89, of Lafayette, died at St. Anthony's Healthcare in Lafayette 2:10 AM Saturday October 15, 2011 where she had resided for the past year. Blanche was born in Earl Park, IN. July 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Michael and Clara Fledderman Gramman, and attended Sacred Heart Grade School in Fowler and was a graduate of Fowler High School. She married Vincent J. Weisenberger at Sacred Heart Church in Fowler April 24, 1946, and he preceded her in death October 2, 1977. Blanche was employed at Purdue University at Earhart Hall and had also worked in the cafeteria at Wainwright Jr. Sr. High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral; the Altar & Rosary Society and Christ Renews His Parish, both at St. Mary's, and was a volunteer for the Catholic Schools Garage Sale. Surviving are 3 daughters, Tamara Wisler (husband Donald) of Dublin, OH.; Elaine Doss of Lafayette, IN.; Teresa Cuttell (husband Greg) of Champaign, IL.; 2 sons, Fr. Richard J. Weisenberger of Marion, IN.; Gregory Weisenberger (wife Becky) of Clarks Hill, IN.; 4 sisters, Evelyn Strasberger of Lafayette, IN.; Alice Robinson of Oxford, IN.; Lillian Bennett of Earl Park, IN.; and Anita Schemensky (husband James) of Chanan, IL.; and by 2 brothers, James Gramman (wife Wilma) of Muncie, IN. & David Gramman (wife Mary Lou) of Darlington, IN. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-granddaughter, and a daughter-in-law, Pam Perry of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Gerald and Ronald Weisenberger, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 8 PM, with the Vigil Service at 7:30 PM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral 10:00 AM Tuesday, Fr. Dan Gartland, Celebrant, and other priests of the Diocese concelebrating, and Fr. Richard J. Weisenberger, as homilist. The interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery at Fowler, IN. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Lafayette Catholic Schools Foundation.
