Beverly Canganelli

Beverly J. Canganelli, 81, of Lafayette, died at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis 2:02 P.M. Thursday October 9, 2008 where she had been a patient since September 22. Born in Templeton, Indiana December 6, 1926, the daughter of the late William J. and Shirley L. Hickman Neal, she had resided in Lafayette since 1957. Mrs. Canganelli was a graduate of Oxford, IN. High School, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary education from Ball State Teachers College in 1948, and had also attended Purdue University. Her marriage was to Dr. Vincent G. Canganelli on December 27, 1950. Mrs. Canganelli had taught kindergarten in Frankfort, IN. 2 years, and had worked as a patient relations representative at St. Elizabeth Hospital from 1979 until 1991, and for a brief time, was social coordinator at Williamsburg Apartments. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a former member of the Toastmasters. Surviving are 4 daughters, Teresa A. Canganelli of Nachitoches, LA.; Joanne L. Canganelli Parman of Cary, N.C.; Monica L. Canganelli of Indianapolis, IN.; Jan M. Canganelli (husband William Reik) of Indianapolis, IN.; 3 sons, Michael "Tony" Canganelli (wife Gail) of Valparaiso, IN.; Patrick W. Canganelli (wife Susan) of Delphi, IN and Mark A. Canganelli of Arvada, CO.; and 1 sister, Thelma S. Neal of Lafayette. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME 1104 Columbia St. from the Rosary at 4:45 until 8 PM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Cathedral Noon Tuesday, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Julia McDonald; Joseph & Eli Canganelli; Anastasia Day; Alexandra Scharp; Christopher & Samuel Cousins; Davis, Pete & Jeff Sturgeon; 9 great-grandchildren; and special friends Ralph Ewalt & Shirley Settlemyre. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lt. William Keith "Slim" and Lynden "Spud" Neal and a son-in-law, Vince R. Parman.
