Beulah D. "Boots" DeHahn Rumpza, 95, of Lafayette, died at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare Center in West Lafayette 6:45 PM Saturday February 11, 2012 where she had resided the past 4 years.
She was born in Tippecanoe County March 25, 1916, the daughter of the late Sam and Ida Shelley Murr, and attended Monitor High School.
Beulah was first married to George DeHahn in Lafayette and he died May, 1969. She later married George Rumpza in 1972, and he died in May, 1974.
She worked for Jim and Roberta Price for many years, and later workd as a sales person in the jewelry department at Service Merchandise for 15 years, retiring at age 75. Beulah was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, and enjoyed reading, playing cards and bingo, and traveling.
Surviving is a daughter, Carol Fischer (husband Richard) of Rossville, IN.; a son, Jim DeHahn (wife Eleanor) of West Lafayette, IN.; 2 step-daughters, Barb Wood of Lafayette, IN. and Janet Bryant of Roscoe, IL.; 2 step-sons, George "Butch" Rumpza of Morro Bay, CA.; and Jim Rumpza of Lafayette, IN.; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Jack Rumpza, a sister, Dorothy Harvey, and 4 brothers, Harold, Ralph, Claude and Clarence Murr. Friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Tuesday, Fr. Dan Gartland and Fr. Mike McKinley officiating. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Hahn-Groeber Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for the family.
