Betty Goodwine

Betty Maureen Goodwine of Boswell died Sunday September 23, 2012 in Lafayette. She was born May 16, 1926 and grew up in Hoopeston, IL. There she met her husband, Malcolm Goodwine at a bowling alley. They were married March 5, 1946 and began farming near Boswell. Betty would help with fieldwork and caring for farm animals. As a mother of two girls and two boys she was active in Cub Scouts and Brownies. She belonged to the Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Women's Group. She enjoyed working as a poll worker during local elections She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patsy Owensby, four sisters and four brothers, a son Philip, and her husband, Malcolm. She will be missed by her children Tricia Holsapple, Julie (Tom) Carey, and Marty (Pat) Goodwine, and also her grandchildren, Matt Holsapple, Jordan and Walker Carey, and Nicole, Spencer, Tyler, Grant and Paxton Goodwine, and grandchildren Kiara and Wesley Goodwine.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 1 at Locust Grove Methodist Church, Pastor Chuck Anderson officiating with interment to follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
