Bertha Jager

Bertha L. Jager, 88, of Oxford, IN died at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette 1:40 AM Sunday April 24, 2016. Bertha was born in Morocco, IN April 16, 1928 the daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (Eldridge) Rhodes and attended Fowler, IN schools. She married Harold N. Jager in Fowler, IN August 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death November 8, 2002. Bertha was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ and the Oxford Home Ec Club. She was formerly employed at Domeyer Industries in Kentland for 20 years, and later operated Bert's Beauty Shop in Fowler for a number of years before operating a shop from her home in Oxford. Surviving is a daughter, Joni J. Carlile of Oxford; a brother Ron Rhodes, and by three sisters, Mary Jean Gehring (Bob) of Crawfordsville, IN; Pearl Mondieck (Bob) of Kettering, OH and Patsy Rhodes of Springfield, MO. Also surviving are 3 grandsons, Chris, Nick and Chad Carlile and by 6 great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at Justus Cemetery in Oxford, IN.
