Barbara Clark

Barbara Irene Clark, 77, of Lafayette, passed away at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette 10:30 PM Friday November 17, 2017 where she had been a patient the past nine days. Barbara was born in Lafayette October 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Irene Barbara Metzinger Clark. Barabara was a graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School and had been employed at Lafayette Bank and Trust in the trust department for 36 years retiring in 1999. She was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, helping serve funeral dinners, assisting with the Pre-CANA program and counting the offerings. Barbara had played softball and volleyball with various recreational leagues in Lafayette, enjoyed bowling and was known for her homemade pies. She was the first coach of the St. Lawrence girl’s basketball team, loved to fish and spend time at her river cottage, along with entertaining her family and friends. Surviving is a sister, Kathleen “Kath” Clark of Lafayette; a niece, Julie Jacot of Lafayette; three nephews, Bernie Jacot (Michelle) of Lafayette; Michael Clark (Michelle) of White Oak, TX; Brian Clark (Heather) of Lafayette; six great nieces and nephews, Makenzie and Madison Jacot; Michaela and Braden Clark; America and Carlos Camacho; and her sister-in-law, Connie Clark of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Jacot and two brothers, Patrick J. and Michael Clark. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday Nov. 21, with the Rosary being recited at 3:45 PM Tuesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 10:30 AM Wednesday Nov. 22, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating, with interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
