Aubrey Danielle Lockard, 11, of Clarks Hill, IN. died at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis 5:57 AM Friday March 20, 2009, where she had been a patient since Wednesday. She had been in ill health the past 2 years, having been diagnosed with PKAN (Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration). Aubrey was born November 7, 1997 in Lafayette to Devon Renee Tyler-Perkins and William Scott Lockard, and was currently a 4th Grade student at Cole Elementary School. She was a member of the Awesome Posse at Cole Elementary; a member of CHAPS, where she enjoyed riding horses; and enjoyed watching Blues Clues and spending time with her dog, Dexter. Aubrey and her family were guests of the Make -A -Wish Foundation for her 9th birthday, and enjoyed a trip to Walt Disney World.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Devon Renee and Brett Fletcher of Clarks Hill, IN.; her father and stepmother, William Scott and Yadi Lockard of Valparaiso, IN.; 3 brothers, Avery and Abraham Fletcher of Clarks Hill, IN.; Antonio Lockard of Valparaiso, IN.; 2 sisters, Ainsley Fletcher of Clarks Hill, IN. and Gabriella Lockard of Valparaiso, IN. Also surviving is the maternal grandmother, George Perkins, Sr. of Kokomo, IN. and paternal grandmother Betty Fletcher of Otterbein, IN. Preceded in death by a brother, Anson Fletcher, a maternal grandmother, Linda Perkins, and an uncle, George Perkins, Jr. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 8 PM Monday. Funeral services at the funeral home 11:00 AM Tuesday, Chaplain Stan Jones officiating. Private family interment services at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo, IN.
