Arthur Young

Arthur Young, 98, of Linden, IN passed away at Zionsville Meadows Healthcare in Zionsville, IN Friday June 1, 2018. He was born in Monticello, KY November 21, 1919, the son of the late Gilse and Rilda New Young. Arthur was first married to Zora Velma Keith in 1941, and they later divorced. He then married Margaret Soards at Marcel, KY January 5, 1987 and she preceded him in death October 10, 2000. Arthur farmed in the Linden area retiring in 1985. He was a life member of the Linden Conservation Club; enjoyed raising coon hounds and coon hunting and doing leather crafts, woodworking and furniture building. Surviving is a son, Gerald Young of Lebanon, IN; three sisters, Grace Roth of Cincinnati, OH; Cordi Branscum of Monticello, KY; Lenna Mae Houchins of Indianapolis along with 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Young; a daughter, Mary Joyce Houston; two great-grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Linden, IN from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM Thursday June 7, Pastor Steve Padgett officiating, with interment to follow at Linden Cemetery.
