Anna Clare Tokarz, age 90, of Lafayette, died at her residence in Lafayette 4:06 PM Tuesday January 2, 2018. Anna was born in Whiting, IN October 20, 1927, the daughter of the late George F. and Mary Elizabeth Sarnecky Adams and was a 1946 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Whiting, IN. She had previously resided in Hammond, IN and moved to Lafayette in 1997. Anna married Walter John Tokarz at St. John the Baptist Church in Whiting, IN February 19, 1955, and he preceded her in death July 3, 1996. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette; was a homemaker, but had been employed at Lever Brothers (soap factory) and Standard Oil (candle factory). Surviving is a daughter, Ann Marie Leclere (David P.) of Lafayette; a son, Joseph Tokarz (Veronica) of Ottawa, IL; a sister, Yolanda Ross (Frank) of Highland, IN and a brother, George F. Adams, Jr. (Anna Mae) of Valparaiso, IN. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Krupinski and two sisters, Mary Swantko and Elizabeth Krieger. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Saturday January 6 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Fr. Tim Alkire officiating.
