Anna Hamady

Anna Mary Hamady, 89, of Lafayette, IN peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday March 17, 2021 at 7:20 PM surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in East Springfield, PA July 13, 1931, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Vajda) Nachman. Anna was a graduate of West Springfield, PA High School and received her Registered Nursing Degree from Hamot Hospital School of Nursing in Erie, PA. Anna married the love of her life, Edward G. Hamady in Girard, PA on February 14, 1953. He preceded her in death January 12, 2013. Anna was a Registered Nurse at Home Hospital in Lafayette for 19 years, retiring in 1987. Anna was a devoted, compassionate, loving wife, Mom and Gramma! She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 11. Anna enjoyed gardening, reading, shelling on the beach and volunteering. She was most passionate about her family and keeping traditions alive. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia McNeish of St. Augustine, FL, Jean Hamady of Punta Gorda, FL and Mary Palmer (Marshall) of Clarks, Hill, IN; two sons, Michael and Mark Hamady, both of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Hamady. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday March 23, the service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, Fr.
