Allen Amstutz

Allen R. Amstutz, 67, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Wednesday morning May 23, 2018 where he had been a patient since April 26. Allen was born in Lafayette December 5, 1950, the son of the late Ellen Marie Hathaway Amstutz and Vaughn Amstutz. He was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and attended Purdue University. Allen married Janie L. South February 12, 1995 in Lafayette and she survives. He was employed at Eli Lilly and Co. Tippecanoe Labs for a number of years and later owned and operated Amstutz and Associates. Allen was a member of American Legion Post 11; 40 & 8, Voiture 364; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154; Navy Club Ship 12; Fraternal Order of Eagles #347; and was a loyal Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Dale Earnhardt fan. Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Danielle Daniel (Ben) of Lafayette; Heather Wales of Lafayette; Melissa Brown (Jake) of Logansport, IN; Angela Amstutz of Dayton, IN; a son, Matthew Howard of Lafayette; his father, Vaughn Amstutz of Lafayette and a brother, Harold E. Amstutz (Cindy) of Lafayette. Also surviving are four grandchildren Tyler, Kierra, Madisyn and Kaden. He recently was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Marie Amstutz and his best friend, Dave Wolfe.
