Albert Pickett

Albert D. "Al" Pickett, 50, of rural Crawfordsville, died in Lafayette at the residence of his sister, Cathy Vauters at 11:28 AM Tuesday September 22, 2009 following a brief illness with cancer. Born November 30, 1958 in Greencastle, IN. the son of Dennis R. Pickett and the late Sonia L. Truesdel Pickett, he was a graduate of the Linden Christian Academy. He had resided in Florida for 15 years before returning to the Crawfordsville area in June 2008. Mr. Pickett was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and was a professional truck driver with Carry Tranist for the past 20 years. Surviving is his father and step mother, Dennis R. and Marilyn Pickett of Crawfordsville, IN.; 3 sons, Jared Pickett (wife Angie), Kasey and Andrew Pickett, all of Crawfordsville, IN.; 3 sisters, Cathy Vauters, (husband Rev. Mike) of Lafayette, IN.; Denise Lawson (husband Tim) of Lafayette, IN.; and Jennifer Nixon (husband Jeff) of Strykersville, New York. Also surviving are 2 step-grandchildren, Briatta and Abigail Freeze. Preceded in death by a brother, Dennis E. Pickett.
