Albert Lee Bair, 75, of Mesa, Arizona, and formerly of Lafayette, died Saturday March 7, 2009 in Mesa, Arizona after an extended illness.
He was born July 9th, 1933 in New Richmond, Indiana to the late Robert and Clara Vail Bair and graduated from New Richmond High School in 1951.
On July 8, 1978, he married Clarine Foley in Lafayette and she survives.
Mr. Bair was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Lafayette, Indiana. He was also a member of the Masons of New Richmond, Indiana, the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Eastern Star of Lafayette, Indiana. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge in Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Bair was employed by the Eli Lilly Company for 41 years. He also assisted at the Helms Funeral Home, later the Helms-Hahn Funeral Home in Linden, Indiana and the Hahn Funeral Home in Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Bair was an EMT and volunteered for the Linden Civil Defense as an auxiliary policeman. He was an avid bowler much of his adult life and enjoyed golf.
Surviving with his wife are daughters Marla Assad ( husband Abraham) of Mesa, Arizona, Deanna Holmes of Mesa Arizona, his son Terry Bair ( wife Roberta) of Conyers, Georgia, stepson Mike Foley (wife Marge) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and brother Raymond Bair (Linda) of Washington, Indiana.
Also surviving are 2 step-grandchildren, Michelle and Adam Foley.
Mr. Bair was preceded in death by 2 brothers William and Ronald Bair, and stepson James Foley.
Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Linden from 10:00 AM until the Masonic service at 12:45 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM Monday, Rev. Dr. R.
